Demi, 49, suffered public meltdown last month when she was hospitalized for substance abuse. Moore, a constant mainstay in the media, lost a firm grip on her once unsullied reputation. Raising three daughters, Tallulah, Scout, Rumer Willis and seemingly in a loving marriage with Ashton Kutcher. However with the fallout of the latter, the “Ghost” actress suffered through a downward spiral.
A close friend of of the actress admits, unsurprisingly, that Demi’s ego is bruised. “Ego-wise, this is the worst thing that could happen to Demi, because she’s such a private person. She’s embarrassed,” said the source to People.
There remains hope to turn the ‘curse’ into a blessing – “The right intervention happened in her life. From a spiritual sense, it is a gift. She has a real opportunity to grow from it. She has to take responsibility for her life.”
For the sake of her well-being and family, Demi needs to only see the bright side.
Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Host Steve Jones Canned From X Factor
The X Factor executives have presented marching orders in three today— judge Nicole Scherzinger and veteran judge Paula Abdul along with host Steve Jones, according to confirmed reports, will not be joining season 2 line-up leaving Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid as the only safe ones.
The blood bath of dismissal is not completely jarring, there has been weeks of speculation about the former Pussycat Doll and Jones tenure on the show, but Abdul’s exile comes out of left field. Where Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly had made less than flattering remarks about Jones’ hosting chops, there was no foreboding on Abdul’s gig being in jeopardy.
“Whether Steve’s the guy or not, it comes under the heading of growth in general, so there will be some tweaks to the show.” Reilly said. “Hosting, as we know, it is a much harder job than meets the eye. I think everybody now has come to realize the value of Ryan Seacrest.”
Simon cosigning the entertainment president Monday said,” “I don’t think he did a bad job but, like ‘America’s Got Talent,’ there is a Brit limit on the show.”
And a day later, Jones affably confirmed the inevitable via Twitter.
“I wont be hosting next seasons XFactor which is a shame but I cant complain as I’ve had a great time. Good luck to everyone on the show.”
Nicole isn’t talking, but sources are prodding the let-go as an exit for the singer to work towards her singing career adding the trite “grueling” excuse as reason to leave as well.
“She’s spoken to Simon Cowell and he’s given her his blessing … ‘X Factor’ took a lot more of her time than she ever expected. She didn’t have any time really to work on her music. She was doing ‘X Factor’ six days a week,” the source stated.
No word has come as to why Paula was part of the big chop, but Cowell insured there was no love lost. “I want to say a massive thank you to
Paula, Nicole and Steve for being part of the ‘X Factor’ last year.” Adding, “You do develop friendships with the people you work with and Paula, in particular, is a very close friend and I expect to be working with her on another project in the near future.”
Cowell has expressed his expectations for the show was too lofty. Prior to launching the series, Cowell had hoped to top America Idol 20 million numbers for weekly viewers, but X Factor ended with approximately 12.5 million viewers a week – behind both Idol and The Voice.
UPDATE: Simon wants to bring on Mariah Carey to take over Nicole or Paula’s seat. An insider to UK Mirror, “Simon wants nothing but the best for the X Factor — and Mariah is the best.”
