Update-Kristin Cavallari’s friends are speaking up about the abrupt break-up of her engagement to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler.

Reportedly Jay called off the engagement to fiance Kristin Cavallari just days after their engagement party. Just ten months together, the couple announced their engagement in April after a vacation in Cabos San Lucas. Kristin arrived back to LA beaming with her engagement ring in tow. The couple had just set their wedding date for a 2012 summer wedding. On July 17th, Kristin tweeted her thanks to friends and family who made her engagement party a blast. And now less than two weeks later, a source reports to People that Kristin was dumped.

“She got dumped. She’s absolutely devastated. She can’t believe this is happening.”

“She was planning her dream wedding, the date was set, the location — everything was set,” the source says. “She’s in shock that the dream wedding she was planning is going to end this way.”

Now another source has revealed to People that Cutler’s controlling ways may have negatively impacted the relationship.

“Jay Cutler was beyond controlling and didn’t really like Kristin to go out,” the friend tells People. “When she did go out, he called all the time and demanded to know exactly where she was going and who she was with.”

The friend adds: “He made her choose between him and being friends with a lot of her girlfriends. I’m not surprised it didn’t last.”
